The bison are iconic animals in Yellowstone and plays a significant role in the park's history and future. This seminar will take place during the rut when the herds gather in the Lamar and Hayden Valleys. You will witness and learn about the complex social structure of these animals as you observe them. Get ready to experience the excitement as large bulls compete for breeding rights and spar with their rivals. Additionally, you will hear the inspiring story of how these animals made a comeback from the brink of extinction within Yellowstone.

This experience is designed for guests 13 years of age and older. The classroom session the evening before the tour is 2 hours, and the park tour day is 9-10 hours. Guests should expect and prepare for moderate hiking (up to 3 miles) with increasing elevation.
